You will be seeing
a Send-A-Link.com banner in the Navigation Footer
Section at the bottom of each page. If
you want this page to be your browser Home Page, click on the Make
it Your Homepage button.
TIP: Unless you have IE 5.x or
above, that function may not appear on the banner.
Please
note: Whenever you see this banner, and if the Make
it Your Homepage link is active, whatever page you are at will
become your browser Home page if you click on the Make
it Your Homepage link. This is an excellent feature, as
it will give you the ability to make just about any page on this
website your browser home page.
PROBLEM:
johnny2k
found a problem with this homepage maker solution. If you happen
to have linked to a page and there is bookmark in the URL in the
address box of your browser. It would look like:
http://www.johnny2k.com/index.html#BottomNav
Your
browser homepage would then always open at the page footer of that
page. It wasn't our intention for that to happen, but it's
just the way that the program script provided by Send-A-Link.com
works (or doesn't work?).
SOLUTIONS:
At
whatever page you are at, if you see a bookmark (i.e., #BottomNav)
in the address box URL of your browser, delete everything from the
'#' and after (the bookmark), and then press ENTER. This will
reopen the page, and you can then scroll down to the Navigation
Footer and use the Make
it Your Homepage button on the Send-A-Link.com banner.
Another
solution would be to go ahead and
click on the Make
it Your Homepage button on the Send-A-Link.com banner,
even if there is a #bookmark in the current browser address box
URL. Click on YES when the Send-A-Link.com
Home Page dialog box comes up.
Now,
you can either leave it that way (end up at the Navigation Footer
of the page with the bookmark left intact), or
You
can click on your browser home page icon (load the page that you
just made your browser home page). Then, because
of the Navigation Footer bookmark being in the home page URL,
(i.e., #BottomNav), the page will load and go to Navigation Footer
at the bottom of the page. (You will notice that the book mark
won't show up in the browser's address bar URL.) Click AGAIN on
the Make
it Your Homepage button on the Send-A-Link.com banner,
and that page will become your new browser home page, without
the bookmark in the URL!
