THE UN-COMFORT ZONE

By Rev. Gerri Janeway

What's pushing your buttons?

What motivates you?

Are you motivated by fame, position, or money? Is fear the motiviational force in your life? Or is it something deeper that fans the flames inside of you?

How many are willing to go outside their "comfort zone" to see the fulfillment of a dream or vision; to reach their God-given goals?

How long are we willing to keep our dreams, our visions and/or goals alive?

At what point do you give up?

Thomas Edison never gave up, instead he said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Winston Churchill, during the bleakest hours of World War II, kept an entire country motivated with this die-hard conviction: "We shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches... in the fields and in the streets... we shall never surrender."

Many of us give up too soon because we set limits on our visions, our dreams and our goals.

Achieving a goal begins with determination. Then it's just a matter of staying focused on our dreams, visions or goals and constantly praying over them and believing that they will come to fruition.

Let me encourage you to keep on believing; keep on reaching, and don't ever give up on that which has been conceived in your spirit or promised to you by God.

Remember what Habakkuk said....

Habakkuk 2:1-3

1 I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

The LORD's Answer

2 Then the LORD replied:
"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.

3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come and will not delay.
